Accessibility statement

Our commitment to making cliniccheck.co.uk usable for everyone.

Effective date: .

1. Our commitment

cliniccheck is committed to making the site usable for as many people as possible, including users with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive impairments. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at AA level.

2. Conformance

We consider the site to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully meet the standard. Known limitations are listed below and we are actively working to address them.

3. Accessibility features we have built in

  • Semantic HTML landmarks (<main>, <nav>, <footer>, headings in correct order).
  • lang="en-GB" on the document, so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
  • Visible focus indicators on links and buttons.
  • Sufficient colour contrast for body text and UI elements.
  • Responsive layout with fluid typography that scales on phones, tablets and desktop without horizontal scrolling.
  • Alternative text on all functional images; decorative gradient banners are marked aria-hidden.
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation, accordions and cookie banner.
  • No autoplaying audio or video.
  • Form fields have associated <label> elements.

4. Known issues we are working on

  • Some legacy carousel components from our underlying UI library use mouse-only swipe affordances; keyboard users can still reach all content via the linked detail pages.
  • A small number of third-party embeds (e.g. the OpenStreetMap iframe on Contact) do not yet inherit our focus styles.

5. Reporting an accessibility problem

If you find an accessibility barrier on cliniccheck.co.uk, please email info@multiligo.com with:

  • the URL of the page;
  • the assistive technology, browser and operating system you are using;
  • a description of the problem.

We aim to respond within five working days and to publish a fix within a reasonable timeframe.

6. Enforcement (UK)

If you are not satisfied with our response and you believe we are failing to meet our accessibility obligations, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice. The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage.

7. Technical specifications

cliniccheck.co.uk is a single-page React application served as pre-rendered static HTML where possible. It uses HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES2020+) and ARIA. We test in the current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop and mobile, and with VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), TalkBack (Android) and NVDA (Windows) screen readers.
