Our purpose
cliniccheck is an independent UK guide for patients considering treatment abroad. We publish checklists, country guides and clinic information so UK patients can make safer, better-informed decisions before paying any deposit. We are not a clinic, a hospital, or a medical authority. We do not provide medical advice; we publish information that helps you ask the right questions of the clinicians who do.
How we research treatments
Treatment pages combine three inputs: published clinical guidance from UK and international bodies (NICE, GMC, GDC, BAAPS, BAPRAS, HFEA, BOA, ESHRE, RCOphth), UK patient-pathway information from the NHS, and current FCDO travel advice for the destinations most commonly chosen by UK patients for that treatment. We do not invent clinical detail; we summarise what the named regulators say and link directly to their primary sources.
Cost figures are indicative ranges drawn from public clinic price lists, UK private-practice fee ranges and published industry surveys. They are starting points for comparison, not quotes. Always request an itemised written quote from any specific clinic.
How we research destinations
Country guides are written from the perspective of UK travellers. Primary sources for each destination include the country's Ministry of Health (or equivalent), national accreditation bodies (JCI, NABH, SAK, CMJ, HA Thailand, CSG), the relevant national medical regulator, and the most recent FCDO travel advice for that country. We cross-check the EU Cross-Border Healthcare framework (for EU destinations) and any UK bilateral healthcare agreements.
Safety notes reflect publicly documented consular and regulator guidance, not anonymous reports or anecdotal patient stories. We do not name specific incidents or individuals.
How we choose which clinics to list
Clinics listed on cliniccheck must, at a minimum, hold a current licence with the relevant national Ministry of Health (or equivalent regulator) and publish enough information to allow informed patient comparison. Listing is not endorsement and is not a verification of clinical outcomes. We expect every reader to use our checklists to verify the specifics — licence number, named surgeon, accreditation, complications policy — directly with the clinic before paying a deposit.
We do not currently accept paid placements, sponsored listings, or referral commissions. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed clearly on every affected page. We do not earn money based on whether you contact a listed clinic.
Review cadence
Treatment pages, destination guides and checklists are reviewed at least every 6 months by the cliniccheck editorial team, and more frequently if a regulator publishes new guidance, the FCDO updates safety advice for a relevant country, or a major accreditation status changes. The "Last updated" date on each page reflects the most recent editorial review.
Correction policy
We aim to be accurate. If you spot an error, an out-of-date regulator reference, or a clinic listing that no longer reflects current reality, email info@multiligo.com with the page URL and the specific issue. We aim to investigate within 3 working days and publish a correction or an explanation. We do not remove content under commercial pressure.
Editorial independence
cliniccheck content is produced by the cliniccheck editorial team. We have no commercial relationship with any clinic, hospital, insurer, broker or medical-tourism agency. We do not provide medical advice and our content does not constitute a clinical consultation. Always consult a qualified clinician for your individual situation.
