Antalya is Turkey's second-busiest hair transplant destination after Istanbul. FUE procedures cost £1,400–£2,200 all-in. Here is everything UK patients need to know about choosing a reputable Antalya clinic.
Antalya has developed into one of the most popular destinations for UK hair transplant patients — second only to Istanbul in Turkey, and combining treatment with easy access to the Turkish Riviera. Package prices are often slightly lower than Istanbul equivalents. However, the wide variation in clinic quality in Antalya makes careful verification more important, not less. This guide covers costs, clinic verification and what to expect from an Antalya hair transplant.
A 3,000-graft FUE procedure at a licensed Antalya clinic typically costs between £1,400 and £2,200, including hotel and airport transfers. All-in packages that include the procedure, 3 nights' hotel and transfers from Antalya Airport start from around £1,600. DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) adds a modest premium — expect £1,800–£2,500 all-in.
By comparison, the equivalent UK procedure costs £6,000–£10,000. Even accounting for flights (Antalya is 4–4.5 hours from most UK airports, with Jet2, easyJet and TUI operating direct routes from at least 15 UK airports), UK patients typically save £3,500–£7,000.
Istanbul has a higher concentration of JCI-accredited hospitals, ISHRS-member surgeons, and established international-patient infrastructure. Complications or concerns are easier to address in Istanbul because of the larger medical ecosystem.
Antalya has a large number of clinics that have grown with the tourism trade rather than purely from medical reputation. Many are excellent; some are high-volume operations where patient throughput matters more than patient outcomes. The verification steps below are more important in Antalya than in Istanbul, not less.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is the standard approach — follicular units are extracted from the donor area and placed in pre-made recipient incisions. It is appropriate for most patients and allows for large graft counts (2,000–4,000 grafts) in a single session.
DHI (Direct Hair Implantation with a Choi pen) is a variation where grafts are placed directly without pre-made channels. It suits patients adding density to thinning areas or those with finer hair. DHI is slower per graft, so it is not appropriate for very large sessions.
A clinic that recommends the same technique to every patient without a video or in-person assessment has not assessed you at all. Both techniques are well-validated when performed by a trained surgeon.

Serious complications are rare but can include infection, folliculitis, and — in the worst cases — poor yield or unnatural hairline design that requires corrective work.

The FCDO has recorded deaths of British nationals in Turkish medical facilities, though these have predominantly involved cosmetic surgery rather than hair restoration.
Day 1: Arrival, hotel check-in, clinic consultation (if not completed by video), pre-operative photographs and blood tests. Day 2: Procedure day. Typically 7–9 hours including scalp anaesthesia, extraction and placement. Head bandaged at the end. Hotel overnight. Day 3: First hair wash at the clinic; departure briefing and aftercare kit. Most patients fly home on Day 3.
Expect crusting for 7–10 days post-procedure. Transplanted hairs shed (shock loss) at 3–6 weeks after the procedure — this is entirely normal, not a sign of failure. New growth begins at 3–4 months. Final result at 12 months.
