Dental work abroad is the most common medical-tourism category for UK patients. Most journeys go well — the ones that don't usually involve avoidable shortcuts.
Use this 22-point list before booking implants, veneers, crowns or full-arch restorations abroad. Dental tourism is the safest medical-tourism category by volume, but the gap between best and worst providers is wide. Most poor outcomes trace back to one or two skipped checks: no CBCT scan, no implant brand confirmation, or "full mouth in 3 days" timelines.
Get a written UK dentist treatment plan first (as a clinical baseline). Work through each item with the prospective clinic; insist on written answers. Take your X-rays, CBCT scans and current treatment plan with you. After surgery, get implant batch numbers and CBCT files on a USB stick before you leave the clinic.
Use this checklist alongside our directory of clinics. Listing is not endorsement — always verify accreditation yourself.
